Theft case solved within 8 hours in Sopore, accused arrested, stolen vehicle recovered : Police

Srinagar: Police in Sopore said on Tuesday that it has solved a theft case by arresting two accused persons involved in the commission of crime and have recovered stolen vehicle.
A police statement issued on Tuesday said “Police Station Sopore received a complaint that during the intervening night of 26/27 April some unknown thieves have stolen a vehicle (Minibus) which was parked outside the house of the complainant at Neharpora Mohalla of main town Sopore”.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 95/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in PS Sopore and investigation was initiated, police in it’s statement said “during the course of investigation officers taking assistance of modern techniques including collection of CCTV footages of various locations learnt about the involvement of two accused persons identified as Basit Altaf son of Altaf Hussain Masoodi resident of Jalalabab A/P Warpora Sopore and Amir Mushtaq Khan son of Mushtaq Ahmad Khan resident of New Colony Sopore”.
Stating that a special checkpoint was established and both the accused persons were arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody, police in it’s statement further said that stolen vehicle (minibus) was also recovered from them, stating therein that further investigation of the case is in progress.

and expedite the pace of work in the district, adding that people of the district have pinned hope on the Administration for development of the district. He emphasised them to gear up their men and machinery and leave no stone unturned in completing all the works within a stipulated time frame.
Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner, Shopian; Joint Director Planning, Assistant Commissioner Development, District Panchayat Officer Chief Exen PMGDY & REW besides BDOs and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
