Srinagar: In view the recent daily surge in the number of cases in Kashmir Valley, Police while implementing Covid-19 guidelines strictly on Tuesday arrested two persons in the last 24 hours, lodged two FIRs and also realized the fine to the tune of ₹105,440/- from 963 people for violating the guidelines/rules.
Giving a detailed account of it’s day long actions police in statement issued on Tuesday said “6 vehicles were also also seized for violating Covid-19 SOPs as special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley”.
In it’s above referred statement police also said “Budgam & Sopore Police held review meetings with the Imams, religious leaders and Auqaf Committees regarding adherence to the COVID-19 containment measures to be followed in Masajid”, adding that “ the meetings were held at Police Stations Beerwah, Magam, Chadoora, Charar-e-Sharief, Tarzoo and Panzalla. The meetings were chaired by respective SHOs”.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/guidelines/protocols for the safety of the people, stating therein that special drive shall remain continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures.
