Srinagar: Police in Budgam on Tuesday said that it has arrested seven persons and seized seven vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of clay in Budgam.
A police statement issued on Tuesday said “ a police party of Police Station Chadoora at a checkpoint established at Hayatpora Nagam Chadoora arrested seven persons and seized seven vehicles (tippers) bearing registration numbers JK04A-8325, JK01P-0702, JK03B-6611, JK04B-4025, JK02AC-7820, JK04-9968 and JK04A-6869 loaded with illegally extracted clay’, adding that “the accused persons identified as Fida Hussain Sheikh resident of Gopalsaif Devbagh, Ishfaq Ahmed Dar resident of Rawalpora Peerbagh, Faizal Qadir resident of Kralpora Chadoora, Ashiq Ahmed resident of Kaiser Mulla Chadoora, Noor Din Waza resident of Wathoora Chadoora, Zahid Basheer resident of Gopalpora Chadoora and Nadeem Dar resident of Rawalpora Srinagar have been shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody”.
Police in it’s above referred statement also said that a case vide FIR number 48/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Chadoora and investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s statement Police appealed people not to indulge in illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules and warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law
