Jammu/April, 27:  Police in Jammu on Wednesday said that it has recovered 10 gms of heroin like substance recovered and also arrested one drug peddler in Janipur Jammu.
A police statement issued on Wednesday said ” in order to control drug trafficking and substance abuse amongst youngsters, several nakas were established at different places and one such naka, established by dedicated team of PS Janipur led by SHO P/S Janipur Inspr “, adding that ” Nayat Ali in Lower Roopnagar area whereby a person  turned suspicious as he tried to hide himself on being signalled to stop, was rounded up. On search, 10 Gms of heroin like substance was recovered from him”.
Stating that Case FIR No. 45/2021 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at P/S Janipur and the accused  arrested, police in it’s statement said ” the accused has been identified as Devinder Singh @ Roshu S/O Padham Singh R/O Lower Roop Nagar”,  adding that ” the overall arrest and recovery was made under the supervision of SDPO West  Rahul Nagar”.
Police in the above referred statement also said that further investigation of the case is going on, reiterating that Jammu Police is striving hard and taking every possible step to make people especially youth aware to eradicate drug menace and appealed people of the area to come forward and share information about drug peddling or consumption on 9086100100 or 100 with Police for the cause.
