Srinagar: Police in Budgam said on Saturday that it has arrested an active militant of Al Bader outfit and also claimed recovery of arms and ammunition from his possession
A police statement issued on Saturday said “based on specific information about presence of militants, Budgam Police along with 53RR and 181Bn CRPF launched a joint search operation in village Nagbal of Chrar-i-Sharif and arrested an active militant who had recently joined Al-Badr outfit. The detained militants was identified as Gulzar Ahmad Bhat resident of Bathpora Arwani Anantnag”.
Police in it’s above referred statement further said “preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested militant was in close contact with the handlers of the Al-Badr and also active militants of Al-Badr outfit in South Kashmir”, adding that “arms & ammunition including one Chinese Pistol, one Pistol Magazine, 14 Pistol rounds, two AK Magazine, 58 AK rounds and incriminating materials of Al-Badr outfit were recovered from his possession”.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police said that a case vide FIR No. 24/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Chrar-i-Sharif and further investigation is in progress.
