Poonch: District administration Poonch Wednesday scheduled opening of shops and operating of public transport as per fresh Covid containment guidelines.
As per an order issued after deliberations with the representatives of Market Associations, District Magistrate, Poonch, in exercise of powers vested in me u/s 34 of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and section 144 of CrPC do, ordered that the shops/establishments shall be allowed to open/operate within the Municipal Limits/Urban Local Body Limits of District Poonch as per the notified schedule.
The Chemist Shops/Testing Labs and Health Clinics/ all medical and optical facilities, besides Milk Shops, Vegetable & Fruit Shops, Bakeries, Eateries and Chicken/Mutton Shops/Street Vendors shall operate daily, while Stationery shops, book shops, Photostat shops
Mobile and electronic shops; Fans/Coolers (Electrical) shops; Hardware and sanitary goods; Cement/building material shops Automobile showrooms and service stations will open on Monday, Wednesday & Friday.
Similarly, Cloth shops, Readymade garments and shoes shops, Manyari/cosmetics shops, Crockery & utensils shops, Karyana and Grocery shops, Jewellers shops, Gift shops, Shops selling multiple items falling in more than one category will open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. 18 Barbers and Saloons will open on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Any shop/establishment not mentioned above shall operate on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
However, these shops/establishments on their days of opening shall be allowed to operate with the conditions that SOPs related to COVID-19 including maintaining social distance, wearing of face masks and placing of sanitizers at the entrance shall be strictly followed.
This order shall come into force with immediate effect on 21st of April 2021 and shall remain in force till further order.
Meanwhile, in another order issued by the DM, “Public transport (metadoors/buses/mini-buses etc) in the District shall be permitted to ply only at 50% of its authorized seating capacity. The Sr. Superintendent of Police, Poonch shall ensure compliance to this effect, In case of violations, a fine of Rs.200/- per person above the ceiling shall be imposed.”
Similarly, “The ceiling on the number of people permitted to attend gatherings/ functions shall be 20 in case of funerals; 50 for all kinds of gatherings in indoor venues and 100 for all kinds of gatherings at outdoor venues. In case of violations, a fine of Rs.2000/- with additional Rs.100/- per person above ceiling shall be imposed, the order stated.
