Police seeks public cooperation to mitigate spread of virus

Srinagar: In it’s continuous effort to sensitise the people about controlling the highly contagious Coronavirus, the J&K Police is organising several public awareness programs, interactions with religious leaders, distribution of masks, public announcements and distribution of pamphlets across Kashmir. Keeping in view the recent daily surge in the number of cases in Kashmir Valley, Police in its efforts to implement Covid-19 guidelines strictly has arrested 4 persons in the last 24 hours, lodged 02 FIRs and also realized the fine to the tune of Rs. 88,480/- from 799 people for violating the guidelines/rules.
Baramulla : Thin out gatherings, consider dual sittings of salah
In district Baramulla, in order to thin out the gathering during prayers a meeting with local mosque clerics was held who were requested to cooperate with Police in implementation of guidelines/SOPs for the safety of people. They were also advised for considering of dual sittings of Salah on eve of Jummah and other prayers. Moreover, the distribution of masks at public places was also undertaken besides cooperation was sought from various market and transport associations for controlling the spread of viral infection.
Anantnag : Masks distributed among public, violators fined; In Anantnag, Police along with Civil Administration distributed masks among the people at various market places and warned of stringent action against them if found without masks. Announcements were also made at markets and other places appealing citizens to adhere to the Govt SOPs, guidelines like maintaining of social distancing, wearing proper masks and avoiding the crowded places.
G’bal : Announcements throughout district; In Ganderbal, Police carried out announcements throughout the district advising people to adhere to Covid-19 SOPs envisaged by Government to contain the spread of Covid-19.
Sopore: Distribution of free masks among masses, announcements at PS level; In Sopore, Police has launched a rigorous drive where free masks were distributed among the general public and announcements were made at the police station level to sensitize citizens about Covid-19 protocol. People were warned of strict action in case failing to adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines laid down by the government.
Kulgam: Distribution of masks, safety announcements throughout distt; Kulgam Police carried out distribution of masks at various places throughout the district. Announcements advising people to follow SOPs/guidelines in letter and spirit to contain the spread of Covid-19 were made through loudspeakers.
Srinagar : Distribution of free masks at Hari Singh High Street; In its effort to control the spread of contagious Coronavirus, Srinagar Police distributed free masks among the general public at Hari Singh High Street Srinagar. The public was advised to adhere to the Covid-19 protocol strictly as responsible citizens to save themselves and others from the spread of the infection. People in a statement issued on Tuesday has appealed people to cooperate with it in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/guidelines/protocols for the safety of the people. The special drive shall remain continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures.
