5 gms of heroin recovered in Jammu, One drug peddler arrested : Police

Jammu: Police in Jammu on Tuesday said that it has arrested one drug peddler and recovered 5 grams of heroin from his possession.
A police statement issued on Tuesday said “Based on the specific inputs regarding drug peddling, several nakas were laid at different locations by Jammu Police”, adding that “one such naka was led by I/C PP Talab Tillo Inspr. Kali Charan at Tirath Nagar Talab Tillo where they rounded up a suspect namely Chander Kant S/o Santosh Kumar R/o Talab Tillo Jammu during searches’ 5 Gms of heroin was recovered from him”.
Stating that Case FIR No. 76/2021 U/Sec.8/21/22 NDPS Act got registered at P/S Nowabad and the accused was arrested, police in the above referred statement said “the overall arrest and recovery was made under the supervision of SHO Nowabad Insptr Deepak Jasrotia”, adding that “further investigation of the case is going on”.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police said “Jammu Police is striving hard and taking every possible step to make people especially youth aware to eradicate drug menace”, adding that “ people are advised to come forward and share information about drug peddling or consumption on 9086100100 or 100 with Police for the cause. The identity of the informers will be kept confidential”.
