The month of Ramadan is all about fasting and following Allah (SWT)’s commands. There are countless opportunities to take advantage of during this month and Muslims seek repentance for past sins as well as becoming more pious.
Performing Iftar is an act that brings blessings for Muslims. Some people make arrangements for Iftar for others such as in a mosque. This is a great act of kindness and one that is greatly favoured by Allah (SWT). It is said that Allah (SWT) will open the gates of forgiveness for those who help fast observers in acquiring adequate Iftar to break their fast at this time. The one who gives a fast observer water to drink at the time of Iftar will be given a drink from Allah’s fountain where they will never again feel thirsty.
Before posting your #Ramadan meals on social media, think of the millions in need, who can’t even afford a mouthful of food. Have a heart and kindly do not waste your reward and Blessings by posting it on social media rather be thankful to your Lord for his favours on you.
Unfortunately a trend is being followed in our Valley that many people are sharing the pictures of their Ramdhan meals on social media which is totally unacceptable in Islam. You may make others feel “Less Blessed” by posting such pictures or hurt the feelings of Poor People ! People Nowadays post how they feel while fasting, their acts of Ibadah and every single thing on Social Networking sites which comes under “Show Off” in Islam ! If Allah Has given you Enough Variety of Lavish Foods that Thank Allah instead of gaining attention on Social Media. Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Whoever shows off, Allaah will expose him.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6134; Muslim; 2986). Ibn Hajar said: al-Khattaabi said, this means: whoever does something that is not sincerely for the sake of Allaah, merely wanting people to see him and hear him, will be punished for that – Allaah will expose him and make known what he is concealing. It was said that whoever does something with the intention of gaining status and prestige among people, and does not seek the Face of Allaah by doing it, Allaah will make him the subject of bad speech among the people in whose eyes he wanted to gain status, and he will have no reward for it in the Hereafter. (Fath al-Baari, 11/336). So before posting your #Ramadan meals on social media, think of the millions in need, who can’t even afford a mouthful of food. Have a heart and kindly do not waste your reward and Blessings by posting it on social media rather be thankful to your Lord for his favours on you.
