94 bovine animals rescued at Nagrota Jammu, 8 accused arrested : Police

Jammu/April, 20: Police in Jammu on Tuesday said that it has rescued 94 bovine animals in Nagrota Jammu and also arrested eight accused.

A police statement issued on Tuesday said “police rescued 94 bovine animals at Ban Toll Plaza naka and seized eight different vehicles bearing Registration numbers JK19/ 8067, JK08A/6267, JK03D/0362, JK14/9382, JK13E/ 6911, JK195790JK03H/4621, JK02CR/6093, has also been seized.

Stating that Case FIR Nos. 145/2021, 146/2021, FIR. No. 147/2021, FIR. No. 148/2021, FIR. No. 149/2021, FIR. No. 150/2021, FIR. No. 151/2021 and FIR. No. 152/2021 U/S 188/IPC 11 PCA ACT respectively have been registered at P/S Nagrota and eight accused have been arrested.,Police in the above referred statement further said “the accused arrested have been identified as Mohd Sardar S/O Guga Hussain R/O Nai Basti Reasi, Basharat Ahmed S/O Mohd. Iqbal R/O Shergund Anantnag, Mohd. Iqbal S/O Abdul Gani R/O Khanpur Nagrota, Sharafat Ali S/O Mohd. Tahir R/O Kacha Wan Kokarnag Anantnag,
Mohd. Hussain S/O Mohd. Rafiq R/O Achiwal Hillar Anantnag, Zahid Ahmed S/O Bashir Ahmed R/O Qazikund Kulgam, Aqib Ahmed Mir S/O Mushtaq Ahmed R/O Bankoot Banihal Ramban, and Wasim Sajad S/O Nazir Ahmed R/O Ward No 7 Kathua.

“The whole operation has been done under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota  Parupkar Singh and the arrests have been made by SHO P/S Nagrota Inspr. Mohd. Showket. Further investigation of the case is going on”, reads the police statement. .

In the concluding Para of it’s statement police said ‘District Police Jammu is striving hard and taking every possible step to curb the bovine smuggling menace. District Police Jammu is seeking support from the people to share information about bovine smuggling with police for timely intervention for the cause:.
