Many among us think that Ramadhan is the month of Fasting and charity. Is it only confined to this very idea of leaving food and other unethical practices from dusk to dawn? If not this then what is the actual purpose of the holy month Ramadhan which we all should know to get the answer of most unanswered questions. Allah says in Quran “That it was during Ramdhan that the revelation of quran took place. The month of Ramadan is that in which quran was revealed,a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion”. 2:185. This Quranic verse here gives us the most important gist of the holy month Ramadhan that it is all just because of quran that Ramadhan month is being considered as pious and holy among all other months.So now this all will help you Inshallah to utilise this precious time of Ramadhan very carefully and in a productive way for yourself as well as for the whole humanity.The month of Ramdhan is an anniversary of Divine book Alquran which transformed the illiterate Arabs in to the cultured and well behaved society. That society where everyone was in quagmire and other basic requirements were uncertain. This guidance book transformed them in a civilised society in a short span of time, not with any magic but the guidelines and the message of peace, love, and unity. Whenever we look to the revelation process we never find that Allah commanded the humankind firstly with Nimaz, Fasting or any other Islamic obligations but just to Read in the name of Allah.
We all should now ponder in this divine book rather than reading it on the surface of pages so that we can get that nectar back which used to be in the glorious history of Islam. We should now try to find out the main idea of human life in the context of Quran.
And even when we look towards the life of prophet Muhammad (saw) how they emphasised on the process of acquiring knowledge can be imagined with these sayings of prophet, “The word of wisdom is the lost property of believer and wherever he finds it ,he is the most deserving of it. One who proceeds on a path in pursuit of knowledge, God makes him proceed therewith on a path to Paradise. And verily, the Angels spread their wings for the seekers of knowledge out of delight. Verily every creature of earth and sky asks forgiveness for the seeker of knowledge, even the fish in the ocean. This all taught us a lesson that the believer should search for a knowledge in all possible ways”. The quran deals with all the practical ways life of humankind and all branches of research. Spending resources in the ways to acquire knowledge is considered as a worship. Even if one has to travel to seek knowledge he/she can combine or shorten the five prayers and can even postponed the compulsory fasting. This is the beauty of Islam that more provokes on acquiring of knowledge. Now to get the spiritual taste of Holy month of Ramadan we should more Focus on Research in the book of guidance for which the Month of Ramdhan got importance, The Quran can be the foundations of various branches of knowledge example Politics, Astronomy, Biology, physics, history, medicine etc. Remember here a branch of knowledge is considered holy as long as it benefits the mankind. So we all should now ponder in this divine book rather than reading it on the surface of pages so that we can get that nectar back which used to be in the glorious history of Islam. We should now try to find out the main idea of human life in the context of Quran. So I would love to suggest you all to research in this month of Ramdhan rather than being confined to the traditional segments of Fasting. We should now take this oath to acquire, and spread the message of peace,love and prosperity after the farewell of this month.
