Div Com(J) reviews progress on mega dev projects being executed in Jammu division

Jammu,: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer Saturday reviewed the progress on mega development projects being executed in districts of Jammu division here at a meeting of concerned officers.
The meeting was attended by MD JKPCC, Executive Director, Mubarak Mandi Jammu Heritage Society, Director Tourism, Director Horticulture, Planning and Marketing, MD JK housing Board, MD Chenab Valley Project, Chief Engineer PWD besides Senior officers of IIM, IIT, IIIM, NHAI, NHIDCL, NPCC and other concerned, while Deputy Commissioners attended the meeting through video conferencing.
The Div Com reviewed in detail the progress on mega projects of Power, Health and Medical Education, Higher Education, Social Infrastructure, Highways, Irrigation and Flood Control, Culture and Tourism.
The concerned officers apprised the divisional Commissioner about the present status of work on all the under execution projects including IIT Jammu, IIM, Jammu-Akhnoor Road, Jammu Ring Road, Government Medical Colleges, Pakal Dul and others. It was informed that work was in progress on all the projects.
It was informed in the meeting that work on several projects is at final stage and is near completion, including Government Medical Colleges Doda, Kathua, Rajouri, Government Ayurvedic Medical College Cum Hospital Akhnoor Jammu, District Hospital Reasi, Gated Barrage across River Tawi, Construction of Assets in lieu of those destroyed in floods, Jammu- Srinagar- Pahalgam- Anantnag Salamabad Uri Kargil Leh Swadesh Darshan, and other works.
Threadbare discussions were held on issues/ bottlenecks, hampering the work progress. The Div Com directed the concerned to resolve the minor issues on priority.
Emphasizing on adherence to quality specification and timely completion of the projects, the Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned departments to work in synergy and ensure regular monitoring of the work. He also called for maintaining inter-departmental coordination, which is vital for expediting the pace of developmental works.
The Div Com also asked the concerned for removing bottlenecks to expedite the pace of work on all projects for their timely completion.
