Arrangements for Ramadan, Baisakhi reviewed at Ang

Anantnag:The arrangements for ensuing holy month of Ramadan were reviewed Saturday in a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla at Dak Bungalow Khanabal here.
Addressing the meeting, the DC stressed upon the concerned departments to ensure availability of adequate stock of ration at all sale centers besides ensuring supply of gas and Kerosene to the consumers. He also directed for uninterrupted power supply especially during Sehri and Iftar timings with no unscheduled power cuts.
Dr Singla enjoined upon the CA&PD, Metrology and Food Safety departments to conduct regular market checking and ensure availability of good quality food items including meat, poultry birds, vegetables and fruits at notified prices. He also called for strict check on hoarding and profiteering.
Besides, the Municipal authorities were instructed to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in and around towns, important Dargahs and mosques.
He also directed to ensure Medicare facilities and setting up of medical camps on Jumat-ul-Vida, Shabi Qadr and on Eid-ul-Fitr. The Officer from Fire & Emergency was directed to ensure installation of fire tenders at Khiram, Kaba marg, Reshi Maloo & Aishmuqam.
The Ex. Engineer Jal Shakti was directed to ensure availability of tanker service during sacred days. Same directions were issued to ARTO, to ensure the availability of adequate transport during sacred days of the month.
The SDMs were directed to conduct the meetings at sub divisional level with concerned officers and representatives of Auqaf committees to ensure better coordination.
The DC also reviewed the arrangements for Baisakhi festival and directed the concerned to ensure all necessary arrangements for the Sikh community at Mattan, Hutmurrah, Chittisinghpora, Palpora & Qazigund.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Addl. SP, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sub Divisional Magistrates, CMO, Ex. Engineers of PDD, Jal Shakti, Assistant Director CA&PD, ARTO, Executive officers of all Municipalities, Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Services, Tehsildars and other concerned officers.
