Territorial Army soldier killed in Bijbehara attack

Srinagar: A Territorial Army soldier was Friday shot dead by unknown gunmen in Bijbeheara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Police officials said unidentified gunmen shot at a TA soldier identified as Mohammad Saleem Akhoon, son of Ghulam Hassan Akhoon of Jablipora, Bijbehara following which he was immediately shifted to SDH Bijbhhera in a critical condition. Saleem had got his leave sanctioned to visit home.
He was removed to GMC Anantnag where he was declared brought dead on arrival. Medical Superintendent of GMC Anantnag, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Sofi said that the injured was declared brought dead.
Medical Superintendent SDH Bijbhhera, Dr MS Tulla had said that Saleem had critical head injuries and was referred to GMC Anantnag for treatment.
Pertinently, the area has been cordoned off and a massive search operation has been launched to nab the attackers
