Kupwara: The Chairman, District Development Council (DDC), Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpuri; Vice Chairman, District Development Council, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir and Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din were Friday administered Covishield vaccine at Covid Vaccination Centre, Sub District Hospital Kupwara.
On the occasion, the dignitaries said that the Covid vaccine is safe for protection against the pandemic viral disease. In a message, they urged upon the people to come forward and administer the Covishield vaccine to protect their health. They also urged for maintenance of social distancing and wearing of masks besides ensuring proper hygiene to prevent spread of virus.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner convened a meeting with Health officers and reviewed the present status of sampling and vaccination process in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner was informed that 41047 persons have been vaccinated including front line workers in the district so far. It was also informed that 7423 samples under Rapid Antigen Tests for Covid-19, besides, 3011 RT PCR Sampling have also been done during the last eight days.
