DC Kupwara chairs MDDLTFC meeting, asks officers to safeguard assets

Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din Tuesday convened a meeting of Multi Departmental District Level Task Force Cell (MDDLTFC) to review the functioning of Geology & Mining Department in the district.
The meeting discussed various issues relating to the mining activities of mineral blocks allotted to the successful bidders and tendering of the minor blocks.
The meeting also discussed the safeguard of Nallahs, river beds and bunds. Besides, instructed all stakeholders to enforce National Green Tribunal (NGT) guidelines in letter and spirit while extracting minerals from the Nallahs in the district.
He simultaneously directed the Irrigation and Flood Control, Fisheries, Forest and other stakeholders to ensure safeguard and care of the assets under their control.
The DC directed all concerned officers to work in coordination so that the guidelines of the Mining Department are implemented at the ground level and there should be no damage to the assets of other stakeholders.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone; ASP Kupwara, ACR, DMO and other concerned were present in the meeting.
