Srinagar/April,7 : Following the recent transfer of PHE/ Jal shakti wing department to SMC, a meeting under the Chairmanship of City Municipal Commissioner Athar Aamir Khan was on Wednesday held to discuss and finalize the modalities regarding transfer of water works Division to SMC in his office chamber here at Karan Nagar.
A statement issued by the City Municipal Commissioner Srinagar said that City Municipal Commissioner took review of Manpower, schemes and the undergoing projects,adding that , the issues and the measures to be taken regarding supply and demands under Jal Shakti department within SMC limits were also discussed at length. Besides Chief Engineer PHE ,Joint Commissioner Adm , Joint Commissioner Works and other officilas attended the meeting.
During the course of meeting Athar stressed officials to expedite with the finalization of action plan to be submitted for the current year. He also deliberated upon various issues including the financial aspects and emphasized that all necessary measures should be taken for adequate and uninterrupted water supply to the citizens of Srinagar especially in the upcoming holy month of Ramadhaan.
