Srinagar: Police in Kulgam have rescued a girl at Mirbazar Qazigund and arrested two accused persons involved in the commission of crime.
A police statement issued on Monday said “Police Post Mirbazar received a specific information about a girl being raped by two persons inside a vehicle bearing registration number JK18A-6426 near FCI Mirbazar”.
Stating that police party from PP Mirbazar under the supervision of SDPO Qazigund Mohammad Shafiq immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the girl, police in it’s statement said “two accused persons were arrested and a vehicle was also seized used in the commission of crime”. Police, according to the statement, identified the accused as Hafiz Farooq Parray son of Farooq Ahmad Parray and Ubaid Ayoub Raina son of Mohammad Ayoub both the residents of Gadihama Kulgam.
The statement further said “ a case FIR No. 63/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Qazigund and further investigation has been initiated”, adding that “after fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs”.
