Encounter breaks out in Shopian’s forest area Peer Ki Gali , 4-5 militants trapped

Shopian/April, 3 : A gunfight broke out on Saturday morning between millitants and the government forces in forest area peer ki gali in South Kashmir’s Shopian district .

Official sources said a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Peer ki gaming but as the joint team of forces approached the hiding spot, the hiding millitants fired upon the forces, triggering exchange of fire.

Confirming the gunfight Jammu and Kashmir Police on it twitter handle wrote “Encounter has started at forest area #Peer ki gali area of #Shopian. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow”

As per sources, four to five millitants are believed to be trapped.
