Claiming that since, then the above mentioned police official was calling complainant  on his phone repeatedly and demanding an amount of Rs. 2000/- (Rupees Two Thousand Only) for issuance of the  true copy of the compromise deed entered into between the parties, the ACB in it’s statement said “on receipt of the complaint, a case FIR No.06 of 2021 U/S 7 PC Act. 1988 IPC was registered in Police Station ACB Srinagar and investigation was taken up”.

Stating that a  trap team was constituted which in  a successful trap  caught Head Constable Gulzar Ahmad of Police Station red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe from the complainant, the ACB statement said ”  the amount of bribe to the tune of Rs. 2,000/- was also recovered on the spot following which he was arrested and taken in custody by ACB team”.  “Further investigation of the case is going on”, reads the concluding para of the ACB statement.
