Huge cache of arms, ammunition recovered in Kupwara: Police

Srinagar: Acting upon a specific information a search operation was conducted by Kupwara Police and Army in the Dhani, Taad area falling in the jurisdiction of PS Karnah, said Jammu & Kashmir Police in a statement issued on Monday .
The police statement said that huge cache of arms and ammunition including 5 AK-47 rifles with 6 magazines and 07 Pistols with 9 magazines were recovered and a case vide FIR No. 19/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered registered at Police Station Karnah and further investigation has been taken up.
Revealing that some suspects have also been taken into custody to ascertain the facts and to conclude the investigation on merits, the police in it’s statement further said “the timely recovery of huge cache of arms and ammunition has thwarted any possible untoward incident in otherwise peaceful region and has scuttled the plans of militants outfits to derail peace and harmony”.
