Srinagar/March,24 : Traffic on Jammu- Srinagar highway was on Thursday resumed after remaining shut for two days due to landslides and stone shooting triggered by heavy rains on two consecutive days .
Traffic police officials said ” traffic on Srinagar-Jammu national highway has been restored. The vehicles stranded at different places, including Udhampur, were allowed to move to their destinations in Kashmir valley after a formal clearance from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and traffic police personnel deployed on the highway. They said the road was closed following massive landslides at Cafeteria Morh, Sitaram Passi and Digdol and shooting stones at several places and mudslides at Sherbibi and Shabanbass. The NHAI working almost round the clock since Wednesday this week  allowed one-way traffic on Thursday morning as the officials said that there is still threat of landslides and shooting stones.
