Shopian:: The District Youth Services and Sports (DYS&S) Department Shopian Wednesday organised a rally to raise awareness on judicious use of water.
The rally commenced from Mini Secretariat Arhama and culminated at Fruit Mandi Arhama in which children from different educational institutions participated with great enthusiasm.
The students on the occasion held placards reading messages regarding water conservation and rain harvesting, they also raised the slogans awaring masses of the importance of judicious use of water.
The programme was presided over by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Abdul Aziz who made the officers and participant students pledge for the conservation and harvesting of rainwater.
Among others Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Shahbaz Ahmad Bhoda, Chief Education Officer, Shopian, Mohammad Mushtaq, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Shopian Gurmukh Singh Dutta besides other concerned officers and officials were present on the occasion.
