Kulgam Police recovers kidnapped minor girl, accused arrested

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has recovered a kidnapped minor girl and arrested the person involved in the commission of crime.
A police statement issued on Tuesday said that on March 21 PP Mirbazar received a complaint from a person that his 14 year old daughter is missing and is apparently kidnapped by unknown person following which a case FIR No. 55/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation was initiated.
Stating that during the course of investigation a team headed by Incharge PP Mirbazar was constituted, police in it’s above referred statement said that acting on specific leads, the team recovered the kidnapped girl from Hyderabad and arrested the accused person identified as Gowhar Ahmad Mir son of Mohd Yousuf Mir resident of Lalan Anantnag who was shifted to PS Qazigund where he remains in custody.
Police in it’s statement further said that after fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs. Investigation into the matter is in progress.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police said that swift action by police against anti-social elements has been appreciated by the locals. Police has appealed people to cooperate with police in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood and asked them to share information pertaining to social crimes with police, stating therein that actions are taken to curb social crimes shall continue.
