Samba:: On the eve on international world water day, district administration samba Monday carried out a series of anti-encroachment drives to retrieve encroached water bodies, which is the primary step towards preservation of the water.
Encroachment of several ponds, wells, water channels was evicted in all the 6 tehsils under direct supervision of District Magistrate, Anuradha Gupta.
Giving details on the anti environment drive, the officials said that multiple JCBs were deployed in village Birkmila, Samba, Chak Nazar, Jar Radwan, Katwalta, Karandi, Birpur, Chan Matloni besides other villages in Samba, Vijaypur, Purmandal, Ramgarh, Ghagwal, Bari-Brahmana tehsil and encroachment on 150 Kanal 18 marlas Gair mumkin talab (water body) was removed.
District administration Samba has issued stern warning against any attempts of encroachment of the government land in the distric .
During the drives, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Jitender Mishra, SDM Vijaypur C P Kotwal, SDM Ghagwal Ramkesh Sharma besides tehsildars, police personnel were also present.
