Dulloo reviews implementation of National AYUSH Mission components in JK

Jammu: Financial Commissioner Health & Medical Education, Atal Dulloo Monday chaired an executive meeting to review the functioning of various components of National AYUSH Mission (NAM).

On the occasion, the Financial Commissioner also released a book on success stories of AYUSH systems of Medicine.

The meeting discussed the implementation of the components of National AYUSH Mission viz establishment of four 50-bedded Integrated AYUSH hospitals; establishment of AYUSH Health & wellness Centres under Ayushman Bharat; upgradation of ISM dispensaries and hospitals; repairs and renovations of ISM dispensaries; establishment of DTL & Pharmacy and other related activities of NAM.

Director ISM J&K, Dr Mohan Singh briefed the chair regarding the latest status of various components of National AYUSH Mission.

He informed the Financial Commissioner that 50 percent of the funds allocated under the scheme have been utilized under various approved components.

Director ISM also informed that Ministry of AYUSH, Govt of India had sanctioned five 50 bedded Integrated AYUSH Hosptials at Kishtwar, Bilawar, Kulgam and Kupwara which are under execution. Besides, another  50 bedded Integrated AYUSH Hospital along with Yoga and Naturopathy Centre at Central University Samba has been approved which would  be established during the current Financial Year.

It was given out that 94 AYUSH Health & WCs have been established by upgrading existing ISM dispensaries and 100 more have been approved during current Financial Year.

Besides, 123 more AYUSH Health & WCs are proposed to be established in 2021-22 which are being reflected in Annual Action Plan under National AYUSH Mission.

On the occasion, Financial Commissioner directed that DPRs for establishing Herbal Gardens in the premises of Govt Ayurvedic Medical College Akhnoor, and Govt Unani Medical College Ganderbal Kashmir should be prepared by concerned college authorities and reflected in SAAP 2021-22 under Medicinal plants component of National AYUSH Mission.

It was also decided that services of Anganwari workers may be utilized on the same analogy as that of ANMs and ASHA workers for providing Nutritional Health Care services in order to achieve holistic health-care under inter-sectoral convergence at grass root level.

It was also decided that MOUs shall be signed at District level between respective Chief Medical Officers and District AYUSH Officers for utilization of ASHAs/ANMs in AYUSH Health & Wellness Centres. Further, the meeting decided that all AYUSH Health & Wellness centres shall have proper optic fibre internet connectivity for their smooth functioning for which tender shall be floated shortly.

Financial Commissioner directed to expedite the construction works of these hospitals and removal of bottlenecks, if any, so that these hospitals are operationalized at the earliest.

Financial Commissioner stressed on initiating the works on establishing Specialized AYUSH Centres at famous tourist Places viz Katra, Patnitop, Mansar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg.
