Bandipora Roads in bad shape, people vent anger on social media

B’Pora:Residents of this north Kashmir’s village believe that good road leads to development but the daily commuters are facing with massive ordeal as most of the roads of this Bandipora pass through potholes and the department concerned is giving deaf ear to their pleas. The conditions of roads in the Bandipora mainly from Papchan to main market Bandipora speaks loads about official indifference. On social media, residents are trolling and shaming the government over the poor condition of roads in Bandipora.The residents of Bandipora are up in arms against the roads & buildings for failing to repair the roads subjecting the residents to extreme hardships due to the dilapidated condition of the road.
The locals said that the main roads of whole Bandipora is in dilapidated condition and needs immediate redressal.Locals said that the distance that can be covered in minutes is covered in more than hours owing to potholes all over the roads.
Residents say it is unsafe to drive on Bandipora roads, which are full of potholes. Locals say the bad condition of the roads is damaging their vehicles. The condition of the roads is so bad that it is a shame on the R&B department. The area is in a bad condition, but the administration does not care,” said Nasir, an employee. Hadiya Rather a student of 11th class said that they are suffering due to the indifferent attitude of the Roads and buildings department towards the area and they are least bothered about their health and hygiene as bumpy roads have become hazardous for them.Before few days the department has started filling potholes but the rain washed away the material. The department only makes cosmetic changes and each department blames the other. No one is held responsible for the mess,” she added.Abdul Hai a local of the area said the condition of ink roads of his area is in deplorable condition and it is painful for us especially patients .“The few links was macadamised before few years and now it has patholes, ditches which irks computer’s including transporters to run on it, nobody is paying any attention towards it and the road is in shambles,” the locals said.He complained that the road stretch from Papchan to main market which is considered a priority road is in shambles. “The road is dotted with potholes which speaks volumes about the tall claims of the government of improving road connectivity,” he said.Locals urged authorities to look into the matter and macdamize the road at an earliest.Despite repeated attempts Executive Engineer R&B division Bandipora, could not be contacted for comments.Residents urge the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora to look into the matter.
