Srinagar: Police have arrested three gamblers from a gambling site and seized ₹ 15,020/- stake money.
A police statement issued on Thursday said “a police party from PS Sumbal headed by SHO PS Sumbal under the supervision of SDPO Sumbal raided a gambling site at Shilwat Bundh following an input about gambling activities and apprehended three gamblers identified as Gh Rasool Guru resident of Naninara Sumbal, Hilal Ahmad Dar and Adil Ahmad Sofi both residents of Gund Roshan Ganderbal”.
Claiming that stake money of ₹15,020/- and playing cards were seized from the gamblers and shifted to Police Station Sumbal where they remain in custody, police in it’s above referred statement further said that case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sumbal and investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police warned that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
