3 gamblers arrested in Awantipora, Stake money seized : Police

Awantipora: Awantipora Police have arrested 3 gamblers from a gambling site and seized ₹3240/- stake money.
A police statement issued on Wednesday said “a police party of Police Station Khrew raided a gambling site in village Sheikh Mohalla Khrew after following an input about gambling activities and apprehended three gamblers identified as Irfan Ahmad Lone, Mohammad Aslam Sheikh and Irshad Ahmad Sheikh all residents of Sheikh Mohalla Khrew.
Claiming that officers have seized playing cards and stake money of ₹3240/- from their possession, police in it’s statement said that the accused have been arrested and shifted to PS Khrew where they remain in custody.
Police in it’s statement also said that a case FIR No. 14/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Khrew and investigation has been initiated.In the concluding para of it’s statement police warned that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
