Srinagar, Baramulla : Police have arrested two bootleggers and a drug peddler in Srinagar and Baramulla.
A police statement issued on Wednesday said “ In Srinagar, officers during routine checking in the premises of Children Park Hazuri Bagh intercepted tw persons and recovered 12 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession”, adding that “both the accused were arrested and shifted to Police Station Shergarhi where they remain in custody and accordingly case FIR No. 13/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Shergarhi and further investigation is in progress”.
Stating that yet in another similar incident North Kashmir’s Baramulla, officers while patrolling at Hardshuroo signalled a suspicious person to stop but he tried to escape from the spot and was tactfully nabbed by the officers who identified him as Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat resident of Wagoora Keeri, police in it’s above referred statement said “during checking, officers recovered 1kg 50gms of Charas from the possession of the accused who was arrested and shifted to Police Station Kunzer where he remains in custody”.
Stating that a case FIR number 23/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kunzer and investigation has been initiated; police in the above referred statement appealed people to continue such drives in future as well and resolved to act tough against inimical elements. Police in it’s statement also appealed people to come forward with any information regarding anti social elements in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in anti social activities will be dealt as per law.
