COVID transformed whole of my ways of conduct, what got altered the most is the technique of getting education. The pen and paper was almost like an acient thing. Our 1st semester exams were also online that too assignment based, where we didn’t write anything but just copy pasted things and at places submitted each others assignment by just changing the index page while as rest being the same. The semster 2nd classes were online, more than that they were sleep line, what we used to do is join the class mute the audio and go back to sleep. I at most times didn’t knew when and how did the class end. I missed my 2nd class most often because I used to fall asleep in the first one. How can we forget the 2g internet which added to all the mess. We used to get disconnected many a times, then some pompous professors didn’t used to allow us beacause as per them “We were late to class” . Most of the times student and professor used to get in a fight as teacher refused to mark attendance of the student because as per professor the student was late to class, when the student tired to explain that it’s the internet speed which caused him late but professor refused saying “Jab muja connect huva, apko kuyn nahi” , this used to become point of argument between student and teacher, in all this teacher used to get fed up and time automatically wasted. But the most funniest part of the online classes used to be when someone who used to sit in his family while attending classes and used to forget mute the audio, well it was annoying and funny at the same time. But when students used to fight among themselves the online classes used to turn Newsroom, with everyone jumping in and forgetting what the actual motive is of being here, believe it or not online classes used to be fun, fighting for no reason till the time class gets over used to be my favorite thing as we at least used to have some enjoyment. Well if you are thinking we used to waste time by doing so, no we didn’t, in turn we were training ourselves to be well spoken lawyers because 2g most often used to disrupt the line and we were unable to understand what the professor is trying to explain. The most annoying part was when someone used to ask teacher to repeat or when someone used to ask questions. We were taken aback by some students asking questions. We used to be like “We are unable to figure out what subject we are being taught and you are asking questions” . Well anyways we can’t discard the fact that some are actually serious about studies unlike me who checked Syllabus on the day of exams and ran to buy notes only after date sheet was out. Speaking very frankly we all were sure that we will be having online exams and the same way we had in 1st semster but we were heedless of the fact that people in university are master at giving thunderbolts and don’t be ignorant of the fact many have triple PHDs in that. In universities expect our management is supposed to be student friendly but unlike ours who got A+ from NAAC. How and why did they get that I am still wondering, except big well maintained gardens everything is a mess. You can find everything in university except an employee with some humble nature and ethics , everyone considers himself/ herself White collar officers even if it’s a Fourth class employee. I believe DC Sringar Shahid Iqbal Choudhary is much humble and professional then whole of the university staff members. Well I have to accept the fact that not all are same, the few I met were very humble and soft spoken. The professor I had in my examination hall was principled, strict and humble at the same time. He didn’t shout or misbehaved but made sure none cheats. But when I spoke to the lady professor outside examination hall for my quiry at first she didn’t bother to reply and when she did it was “Deakho Deakho audri hoga” In a tone as if I asked for her kidney to buy IPhone. Well, let’s go back to the shock.
Now the exams are over and now we are enjoying the days off the worries of results is keeping us occupied. Well we did our best and let’s hope for the best. And wish that university staff gets to know they once were us and they are there for whole life.
When the notification for exams were out, we found ourselves in the middle of nowhere. The notification although was of online exams but the auto Procter things took away our sleep, because even the notification meant cancellation of exams, like what do you mean. How were we going to stop that? But it had to face opposition the notification was rolled back, while we were enjoying the success and waiting for the notification of assignment based exams, we got the notification that our exams will start after 10 days with full 100% syllabus, we were almost ready to have an attack because we had no notes no anything. As we ran for notes the photostat shops known for providing the course notes got good sale, while the were counting the notes and smiling on the other hand we were counting the days and crying. But when we say the notification delaying the exams for almost 1 month and having only 50% of syllabus we were able to breath of relife. Instead of studing we started to enjoy the delay, my friend left for ice cream and I left for Gulmarag. While we were celebrating the delay, the days kept inching forward, while as I used to make every effort to study the notification of the phone used to attack my attention and then the 4G restoration did the rest. But when I was left with only 3 days for my first paper I placed my phone on side and went through the notes, and finally I somewhat memorised something that Satisfied my about my passing of my paper. As the day of my exam came and I was leaving towards my examination center the fear took over me and it turned my throat dry, even though it was English paper but it had been 2 years I had sat in any exam, I was trembling with fear till I saw the question paper, as I saw it I knew the answers of the questions I was supposed to do, one after the another I just answering and how the time went I was confused but I had done whole of my paper and I was happy with what I had done. But I same happened to me on the next day but question paper made me feel comfortable and then I used to be normal. But the Legal History paper made everyone witness stars in day as we met after doing the paper everyone was like “We never thought paper would be this way”. But even if it was the way we never thought it would be we managed to attempt more than the passing marks. Now the exams are over and now we are enjoying the days off the worries of results is keeping us occupied. Well we did our best and let’s hope for the best. And wish that university staff gets to know they once were us and they are there for whole life.
