Reforms to continue to make BGSBU centre of excellence: VC Prof Akbar Masood

Rajouri: Prof. Akbar Masood, Vice Chancellor, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University said that academic and administrative reforms will continue to make BGSBU a centre of excellence in teaching and research. Prof. Akbar said that to position BGSBU as global talent hub, we should become capable of being nimble, anticipatory, imaginative and reactive.

Introducing series of reforms ,Prof. Akbar stressed the upon the importance of bringing changes in academics and adminstration to take BGSBU at new heights of success at par with global contemporaries. To bring in efficiency in day to day affairs of the University, Prof. Akbar has ordered that the files shall be disposed of expeditiously and shall not remain at any desk beyond two working days. Prof. Abar said that this will not only ensure timely completion of routine work but will bring transparency in dealing with day to day affairs of the University.
In an other decision which aims at streamlining the functioning of various offices of the University and to ensure quick disposal of requests received from various quarters ,Prof. Akbar has ordered that all correspondence of teaching departments should be routed through the Deans of respective schools.
In an other important decision, Prof. Akbar has ordered that technology driven Student’s feedback ( ananymous) shall be regularly obtained from the teaching departments.This will help to facilitate the teaching- learning process. Further , to provide an easy access to information for students and other stakeholders, Prof. Akbar has ordered that all circulars, notifications and orders pertaining to students shall be updated on the University website on regular basis.
Prof. Akbar said that these reforms represent a significant step forward to develop BGSB University a centre of excellence in teaching and research. Soon after taking over as the Vice Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Prof. Akbar has unleashed series of reforms and has sought suggestions from various stakeholders including members of civil society to develop a prospective development plan for the University.
