Srinagar: The Enforcement Wing of Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) Saturday sealed two structures in the area of Rangparistan Rainawari, besides demolished one shop in the area of Jogi Lanker Rainawari, one tin walling/barbed wire and one single storey in the area of Ashai Bagh and Saidakadal which were raised in the green belt area.
The demolition drive was launched under the supervision of Enforcement Officer, Neelofer.
Moreover earth filling was also removed by the demolition team of the Enforcement wing in the area of Rangerstop Saida Kadal which was dumped in order to fill the water body illegally.
During the demolition operation there was some resistance from the miscreants in the area of Ashai Bagh, but with the support of SDPO/ SHO, Nigeen the demolition team managed to demolish the illegally raised structures. The demolition squad was also accompanied by SHO Rainawari who provided full support during the demolition operation.
Meanwhile, it was given out that the demolition drive will continue with full vigour to remove all the illegal structures that have come up along the non-permissible zone in the catchment area of Dal Lake.
