Pulwama: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra/ Extension Training Centre (KVK/ETC) Pulwama concluded Six days J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) sponsored Entrepreneurship development programme on ‘Beekeeping’ for rural youth of schedule tribe.
The programme was organised in collaboration with Directorate of Extension/ SAMETI, SKUAST-K Shalimar.
Secretary/CEO, KVIB Kashmir, Rashid Ahmed Qadri who was also the Chief Guest on the occasion stressed on the need for arranging more such programmes so that the rural youth are made aware and encouraged to set up income generating units through beekeeping.
Course director of the programme Dr. Shahnawaz Ahmad (Scientist Entomology) emphasized the need to adopt beekeeping in bringing sustainability in the Agriculture and Horticulture sector under changing climatic conditions. Later, the certificates were distributed among the participants.
Among others, the programme was attended by Muzafer Ahmed Alaqband Dy. CEO KVIB Kashmir, Ahmad ullah Malik Executive officer KVIB Pulwama besides the scientific staff of KVK.
