Kupwara: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone Saturday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the functioning of Child Line project in the district.
It was informed in the meeting that Child Line is a project by the Ministry of Home Affairs for Women and Child Development, GoI which envisages protection of child rights. It was also informed that the Child Line Kupwara has taken several measures in the district for protection of child rights.
The meeting held threadbare discussion about various measures regarding child protection in the district; these include painting of National Helpline for Children 1098 in Schools and Anganwadi Centres and conducting mass awareness among teachers.
On the occasion, the ADC stressed upon the concerned officers for necessary coordination to ensure protection of child rights in the district.
DSP Kupwara, Assistant Labour Commissioner, CDPO Kupwara, representatives from Child Line Kupwara, Social Welfare, Education department and other concerned attended the meeting.
