Drug peddler arrested in Pulwama; psychotropic substances recovered: Police

Pulwama: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Pulwama have arrested a drug peddler and recovered psychotropic substances from his possession.
A police statement issued on Saturday said “Officers at a checkpoint established at Shadimarg crossing intercepted a suspicious person identified as Muneer Ahmad Bhat resident of Drabgam Bala Rajpora and recovered 21 bottles of Codeine from his possession after which he was arrested and shifted to Police Station Rajpora where he remains in custody”.
Stating that a case FIR No. 19/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Rajpora and investigation in the matter has been initiated, police in the above referred statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, stating therein that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in police-public meetings.
