Weekly Block Diwas: DDC Udhampur listens to public issues at Block Majalta

Udhampur: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Piyush Singla Wednesday listened to public issues at the weekly Block Diwas programme at Tehsil Headquarter Majalta.
Block Development Chairman, District Officers of various departments and PRIs of the block also participated in the Block Diwas.
The PRI members and local people and those form the adjoining panchayats projected scores of demands and projected the problems being faced by them. They demanded adequate staff at the Higher Secondary School, Majalta, Renovation of health centre building, augmentation of drinking water, New Ambulance, improvement of drainage system in Majalta town, Up-gradation and improvement of Majalta to Peuni road, Installation of Street lights at Manwal, construction of Majalta College building, Cleaning of drinking water reservoirs, Opening of primary school at Khoban, easing of Traffic congestion, Increase in daily wages, repair of path from Majalta morh to Majalta market, improvement of voltage, Construction of Sanitary complex at Majalta, Ultra sound machine at PHC Majalta, Implementation of Ladli Beti Scheme, relaxation in restrictions imposed by ASI for construction in village Manwal, Vaccination at Panchayat level, replacement of wooden poles, Construction of ground at Mansar etc.
Responding to the demands, the DDC assured the public that all their genuine issues would be addressed in a time bound manner. He directed concerned officers to resolve the genuine demands of public on priority and submit the detail report of pending issues for projecting to the higher authorities for consideration.
The DDC also appreciated effective service delivery by Tehsil and Block officers as same was highlighted by elected representatives during their address. The DDC also distributed domicile certificate among the beneficiaries.
He asked PRIs to work efficiently for implementation of the welfare schemes on the ground.
Tehsildar Majalta, Saqib Saleem, BDO Majalta Kanu Magotra and BDO Khoon Dr Asha briefed about the achievements of their respective departments in Tehsil Majalta. After Block divas, the DDC inspected ongoing works of PMGSY and R&B sector and directed concerned officers to ensure timely completion as per quality parameters.
Similarly, Block Diwas was also observed at at Basantgarh, wherein KCC cards were issued to the beneficiaries of PM-Kissan by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Syed Khan in presence of BDC Chairperson, Kewal Parihar; SDM Basantgarh , Vivek Modi and other prominent citizens of the block.
At Ramnagar, Block Diwas was held at Town Hall under the chairmanship of BDC Chairman Chanunta, SDM Ramnagar, besides Sarpanches, panches and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
CPO Rajeev Bhushan attended Block divas at Chenani along with SDM, Ab Satar and elected representatives.
Similar hearings were also organized at different blocks of District Udhampur, whereat a large number of PRIs and general public interacted with the designated officers and apprised them of the issues and demands of their respective areas.
