Srinagar: Acting tough against the traffic and COTPA violations, Police have registered 109 traffic challans and 60 COTPA challans in Srinagar.
A police statement issued on Thursday said “Srinagar Police acted tough on the violations of Motor Vehicle Act and Cigarettes & Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) registered a total of 109 traffic challans under various sections of law in Srinagar”, adding that “ Police have also registered 60 challans against the persons who were smoking in public places and were violating the COTPA rules”.
In the concluding para of it’s statement Police appealed people to follow the
rules in letter and spirit and warned the people found violating Government orders will be dealt as per law.
