Srinagar : As a part of the public outreach program, a police public interaction meeting was facilitated at Police Station Karan Nagar. The meeting was held while following social distancing norms and other protocols.
According to a Police spokesman the meeting was chaired by SHO Police Station Karan Nagar and was attended by medical store proprietors.“During the meeting, different issues were raised/discussed like touting by shopkeepers (especially at OPD Gate), fitting of colored/ filmed glass panes at their shops, salesmen should not be without masks/gloves, customers be directed to wear masks/gloves, social distancing at shops during sale/purchase, installation of CCTV cameras in and outside shops, traffic jam/ Wrong parking in front of shops”, the spokesman said.
Stating that the medical shop owners were also briefed/ directed to fit colored/filmed glass panes to their shops so that touting is stopped and the general public does not suffer in future, police in it’s statement further said “Participants were also advised to shun the practice of dumping the stock of medicines, black marketing of such things, selling certain medicines on high rates due to sudden demand of same and have been advised to shun such practices”.
Saying that all the participants assured their full co-operation, the police in the concluding para of it’s statement said “ the participants appreciated the efforts of the Police in facilitating
such meetings where participants express their views freely and urged that such kind of interactive meetings to plug the gap between the public and police will be organized in the future too”
