Jammu: A three days National Painters Camp organized by Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Lamguages, supported by J&K Tourism Department, Jammu, was on Saturday inaugurated by Jang S. Verman, a well known senior artist of Jammu at J&K Tourist Complex, Mansar Lake (Samba, J&K). Ten well known senior and young artists from different parts of the country are participating in this painters camp.
The participating artists include K S Gill and Dharminder Sharma (Amritsar), Archana Choudhary (Madhubani), Deepika (Pathankot), Alphe Kumar (NewDelhi), Tariq Saifi (Surankot, Poonch), Jang S. Verman, Ashok Mehra, Anil Saraf and Deepa Soni (Jammu).
According to O P Sharma, Director, JKCCA, J&K Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu was established way back in 1999 to promote, preserve and propagate the splendid art heritage of Jammu & Kashmir. He said that the NGO has so far organized hundreds of activities in and outside J&K, including organizing of eight International Art Exhibitions; Show at 1st International Kala Mela at New Delhi; National level Art Exhibitions at Jammu, Jaipur, Sunderbani, Amritsar, Goa, Lucknow and New Delhi, Women Painters Art Exhibition at Jammu, etc.; All India Painters’ Camps at Sunderbani, Jammu, Akhnoor, Mansar and Rajouri etc.
The camp is being curated by Sh. O P Sharma, a senior & renowned artist & Director, Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu.
