Jammu: Members of the civil Society met Prof. Akbar Masood, Vice Chancellor Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University in his office here on Thursday. The delegation congratulated Prof. Akbar for taking over as the Vice chancellor the University. On the occasion the Vice chancellor apprised the members of the civil society about various academic, administrative and other initiatives envisaged by the University including the resumption of offline classes and reopening of hostel facilities for final Year/ terminal semester students.
The Vice Chancellor informed the delegation that the University has initiated steps to prepare a 15 – year Perspective Plan for BGSBU to make it a nationally acclaimed University for which the University has invited suggestions / inputs from the Civil Society, particularly from the region of Rajouri and Poonch who are important stakeholders in realization of the dream of establishment of BGSBU in this region of Pir Panjal. The Vice Chancellor assured the delegation that a comprehensive development plan of the University is on anvil to develop BGSBU as a centre of excellence in academics and research. The delegation appreciated the Vice Chancellor’s initiatives and applauded such efforts towards the development of the University. Those who met the Vice chancellor included noted academicians Khurshid Bismil, Mohd Iqbal Shawl, Zaffer Amin Mir and Parvaiz Choudhary.
