Srinagar: In continuation to stringent actions against absconders, Police have arrested two absconders who were evading their arrest for a long time.
A police statement said “acting on reliable information regarding an absconder namely Bashir Ahmad Zagoo son of Ghulam Mohammad Zagoo resident of Sagam Kokernag Anantnag who was evading his arrest from last 31 years, Srinagar Police was arrested from Shimla Himachal Pardesh”, adding that “he was wanted by law for his involvement in case FIR number FIR No. 35/1990 Under section 379 RPC of PS Nishat”.
Stating that the accused has been presented before the court at Srinagar by PS Nishat, police in it’s statement further said “another absconder namely Farooq Ahmad Rajput son of Shahzaman Rajput resident of Chount Waliwar was arrested by Ganderbal Police who was evading his arrest from July 2019” adding that “ after tip-off about the presence of the said absconder at a specified location, police party from Police Station Kangan under the supervision of SDPO Kangan Yasir Qadri raided the place and subsequently arrested the absconder. He was wanted by law for his involvement in case FIR number 40/2019 U/S 420, 392, 506, 120B RPC of Police Station Kangan”.
