43 aspirants trained for self-employment

Poonch: A three-week Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) today concluded at Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute’s Poonch centre in which 43 unemployed youth including ten females were trained for self-employment.
The candidates were trained in services and agri-allied sectors at JKEDI District Centre, Poonch under the Himayat Self Employment Scheme (HSES) of Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
The training program was modeled for manufacturing, services and agri-allied activities. The aspirants were trained for dairy farming, establishment of small business ventures like manufacturing of hollow blocks, multi-utility stores, beauty salon, shuttering houses, retail and wholesale outlets, automobile workshops, drug stores and electrical goods etc. in different areas of Poonch district. The trained youth hailed from Mandi, Surankote, Bafliaz and Mendhar areas of the frontier district Poonch. Special sectoral training was also provided to the trainees during the three-week EDP. A field-visit of the trainees to the successful business ventures in Poonch district was also part of the training program.In the next phase, the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of the trained candidates shall be prepared by the Institute for their respective activities, to be followed by preparation of financial appraisals and another related process for disbursement of funds to enable the trained candidates to establish their business ventures.
The program was coordinated by JKEDI District Centre, Poonch while the training was imparted by a special team of trainers from the institute’s Regional Centre, Jammu including Dr. Majid Manzoor Khan, Associate Senior Faculty, Vishal Ray, Faculty and Rajesh Kotwal, Communication Associate.District Centre, Poonch has already started fresh registration for another training program for which application forms can be obtained on all working days from JKEDI District Centre, Pooncha at District Employment and Counseling Centre (DECC), Poonch.
