The DDC instructed SE, R&B to pace up the work process on the pathway construction and related works adjacent to Manasbal Lake.
Tehsildar Lar was directed to start demarcation along the pathway so that work may not suffer and was asked to conduct a survey for identification of such households who reside within the 100 feet periphery of the lake and identify the suitable patch of land for rehabilitation of affected families on war footing.
The meeting also discussed the issues of flow of sewage into the lake by locals, latrine and poultry waste.
The DDC directed the concerned to identify such households whose latrine waste flows into the lake and initiate necessary measures immediately for stopping the same besides initiating actions against the unauthorized poultry farms who operate on the peripheries of the lake.
To stop the flow of sewage into the lake, BDO Lar was directed to chalk out a plan for providing community type soakage pits to all such households and initiate the work immediately under 14th FC.
The DDC exhorted the officers to work in cooperation and redouble their efforts so that the general environment of the lake is preserved and its glory is restored.
The meeting was attended by ACR Ganderbal, Baseer Ahmad, Chief planning Officer, SE, R&B, CEO, SDA, Tehsildar Lar, BDO Lar and other concerned.
