Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar on Thursday released 11 lakh party membership coupons to both provinces of Jammu & Kashmir.
The very bed rock of National Conference is based on the ideologies of socialism, secularism and participatory democracy, Said Party’s General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar while allocating 7 lakh and 3 lakh party Membership coupons to Kashmir and Jammu provinces respectively. The provincial secretaries Showkat Ahmad Mir of Kashmir province and Bashir Ahmad Sheikh of Jammu have been nominated to supervise the distribution process in close coordination with the party’s district presidents. Besides, 1 lakh membership coupons have been issued to women’s wing functionaries and workers which will be supervised by Party’s Women Wing President Shameema Firdous.
Sagar, while allocating the coupons stated that people of Jammu and Kashmir know that it is only the National Conference Party that offers panacea to the issues and challenges confronting them. He said the strike rate of the party in the recently concluded DDC poll results attest to the universal acceptance of the party in all the regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Showing their political sagacity the people across Jammu and Kashmir have again lent wholehearted support to NC in the DDC polls. The overwhelming support of people was amply reflected in the strike rate of the party in the both divisions. In the DDC elections people have given a clear cut message to those forces which were contriving to wipe us out. Those forces stand unnerved. The results are also insightful how deeply rooted our party is. The reason why results stamped people’s choice for NC has a reason behind it, it is the sheer dedication with which the party has steered the region and its people towards safe shores during challenging times. No other party in the region has the nerve to substitute the vitality of NC to take on the current challenges. People know that the lab made political parties cannot take on the challenges being thrown at us. People know, the era of Sheikh Sahib, and other successive governments led by Dr Farooq Sahib, and Omar Sahib was marked by radical socio-political emancipation of people. People know it was NC which set them free from bondage,” he said.
Sagar impressed upon the functionaries to take the party’s progressive, socialist and inclusive manifesto to every door step. “People have set their eyes on us to catapult them from the ongoing economic slump, political uncertainty, and chaos. It is imperative on our part to amplify our efforts to reach every door,” he said.
