DC Kishtwar distributes TT tables, sports kits among 20 Hr Sec Schools

Kishtwar: To promote sports culture among the students, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma, Thursday distributed 20 Table Tennis tables and sports kits among the 20 Hr. Sec. Schools of the district, here at a programme organised by District Youth Services and sports Department.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Parihar; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dr Amir Hussain; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Anoop Kumar, Chief Education Officer, Ashok Kumar, District Youth Services and sports officer, Kharati Lal besides Principals and students who returned from the Skiing camp at Gulmarg were present on the occasion.
At the outset, the DYSSO apprised about the various activities and achievements of the District Youth services and Sports Department in the current year. He said post lockdown period has witnessed resumption of string of sports activities by the department.
He further added that on the eve of the International Yoga Day 2020, department has facilitated the participation of 5000 students on the digital platform, while 3 batches of 10 students each were sent to Gulmarg for snow skiing course out of which 02 batches have returned back after gaining adequate training and experience in the skiing and one batch is presently camped at Gulmarg, besides 10 students has been sent to Bhaderwah for winter camp,added.
On the occasion the participant students also shared their experiences with the audiences.
While addressing the programme, the DC said the youth of Kishtwar in general and students in particular have proven their mettle in every field including sports.
He also lauded the efforts of the Youth services and Sports Department in facilitating the students to excel in sports and carving out the best out of them.
He further directed the DYSSO Kishtwar to arrange the sports and skiing tools for the students at Kishtwar also so that they could benefit from sports activities at their door steps.
