Jammu: Secretary Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Sheetal Nanda Wednesday inaugurated three-day training programme for on boarding of Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) under HIMAYAT on “Kaushal Bharat” portal.
The workshop was attended by Chief Operating Officer, Himayat, Kapil Sharma; Chief General Manager, NABARD, Ajay Sood; DGM, NABARD, Rahul Shashni; Director (Skills), MoRD, GoI, Sourabh Dubey; Director, MIS, NIRD & PR, Sameer Goswami; representatives of PIAs and other officers of the department.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary RDD stated that it is a golden opportunity for all the PIAs to learn from the portal designed and developed by MoRD in collaboration with NIRD &PR for effective implementation of the programme. She added that this is another step towards promoting transparency and accountability in the functioning of the programme.
Sheetal Nanda expressed gratitude to NABARD for conducting the workshop for training of PIAs and other stakeholders in operating the portal and facilitating the migration of data to the portal.
COO, Himayat, in his welcome address said that this workshop will enable the PIAs to upload their details, online placement verification besides other data on Kaushal Bharat portal.
Pertinently, this web-based application developed by the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR), Hyderabad is a nationwide initiative where data from all states and UTs is collected for quality analytical reports. It will facilitate effective project implementation and monitoring of Himayat programme in Jammu & Kashmir by capturing data related to the projects by following process prescribed in Deen Dayal Uphadayay Grameen Kaushal Yojana (DDUGKY) SoPs and other guidelines.
Himayat is a placement linked skill initiative targeted towards school & college dropouts of J&K being implemented in public-private partnership mode with a focus on providing wage employment opportunities to the skilled youth in the private sector.
Earlier, Sheetal Nanda flagged off the third batch of 40 Sarpanches to Rajasthan on a five day training-cum-exposure visit. The aim of the visit is to expose them to the best practices prevalent there so that the same could be replicated in their respective panchayats in Jammu and Kashmir.
