DGP sanctions ex-gratia, spl welfare relief of Rs 2.21 Cr

DGP sanctions Rs.63 lakh sanctions as Spl relief, loan for NoKs of deceased, serving cops & SPOs

Jammu: Jammu & Kashmir Police Headquarters continues with its endeavour to provide financial assistant under its various welfare schemes for the NoKs of the deceased Police personnel/SPOs and also their those contemporaries who laid their lives while performing their duties .
As a part of this endeavour the Director General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned rupees 2.21 crore as special welfare relief and ex-gratia relief in favour of NoKs of the deceased Police personnel/SPOs and also their those contemporaries who laid their lives while performing their duties ..
As per different orders issued by PHQ ex-gratia relief of rupees 38 lakh has been sanctioned each in favour of NoKs of martyr Inspector Mohammad Ashraf who attained martyrdom in a terrorist attack at Chandpora Anantnag and martyr ASI Babu Ram who attained martyrdom in an encounter with militants at Pantha Chowk Srinagar.
Vide other PHQ orders rupees 20 lakh each has been sanctioned as special welfare relief in favour of NoKs of ASI Rajinder Singh, L/HC Shakti Devi, HC Delhar Singh, HC Purshotam Lal, SgCt Mohammad Showkat, Follower Mohammad Ramzan and special relief of rupees five lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of NoKs of SPOs Mohammad Shafi Khan, Malka Begum, Vijay Kumar, Rayees Ahmad and Tej Ram. They expired due to illness while in service.

Besides, the DGP has also sanctioned financial assistance of rupees 50000 each in favour of NoKs of two Police personnel killed while on duty for the marriage ceremonies of their daughters. The amount has been sanctioned out of J&K Police Pariwar Fund.

Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of police personnel killed in the line of duty, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel and their spouses.
