Budgam: Police in Budgam have arrested two militant associates of LeT and TuM and recovered incriminating materials from their possession.
A police statement issued on Monday said “ Budgam police along with 53RR have arrested two militant associates of militant outfits LeT and TuM identified as Sameer Ahmed Ittoo and Ubaid Ameen Mallah both residents of district Kulgam. Incriminating materials including flags, banners and letter pad have been recovered from their possession”.
Stating that during the preliminary investigation, it has come to fore that these persons were involved in grenade lobbying incidents in Pulwama and Kulgam districts of South Kashmir, police in it’s statement further said “ the accused were making posters, banners and flags of militant organisations on the directions of their handlers across borders for further distribution at various locations in Central and South Kashmir”.
Police in it’s statement also said “the accused were also actively involved in recruiting militants and OGWs with the aim to carry further militant activities in Budgam”, adding that “a case FIR No 6/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Chadoora and further investigation has been initiated”.
Police in the concluding para of it’s statement has said that the timely action by the police .
