Srinagar: After remaining closed for traffic movement on Friday for maintenance Srinagar -Jammu highway will be open for traffic from Srinagar towards Jammu today on 14 February.
Traffic officials said that the traffic will ply from Srinagar towards Jammu only, and no vehicle from the opposite direction will be allowed to move.
The temporary Bailey bridge which was launched by BRO at Kela Morh in district Ramban was detached on Friday after repairing the wall of the original bridge which had earlier collapsed on 9 January this year.
Officials said that since the area is landslide and shooting stone prone, “for some time traffic will be only one way for heavy vehicles.”
Meanwhile, traffic authorities in their communiqué for the traffic plan on14-02-2021 said, “subject to fair weather and better road condition, only one-way traffic shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. TCU Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.”
